Deactivating the auto-start function of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client as of V2.0x for macOS



Description:

The auto-start function of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for Macintosh is enabled by default, so that the VPN client software automatically runs each time the Macintosh operating system is started.

This document describes how to disable the auto-start function of the LANCOM Advanced VPN Client for macOS.



Requirements:
    • LANCOM Advanced VPN Client as of Version 2.0x for macOS (download)



Procedure:

1. Open the command line in macOS and enter the following commands to disable the auto-start function:
  • Change value "Disabled" to "true":

    sudo defaults write /Library/LaunchAgents/com.ncp-e.ncpmon Disabled -bool true && sudo chmod 644 /Library/LaunchAgents/com.ncp-e.ncpmon.plist
  • Disable "RunAtLoad":

    sudo defaults write /Library/LaunchAgents/com.ncp-e.ncpmon RunAtLoad -bool false && sudo chmod 644 /Library/LaunchAgents/com.ncp-e.ncpmon.plist



2. Open the command line in macOS and enter the following commands to enable the auto-start function:
  • Change value "Disabled" to "false":

    sudo defaults write /Library/LaunchAgents/com.ncp-e.ncpmon Disabled -bool false && sudo chmod 644 /Library/LaunchAgents/com.ncp-e.ncpmon.plist

  • Enable "RunAtLoad":

    sudo defaults write /Library/LaunchAgents/com.ncp-e.ncpmon RunAtLoad -bool true && sudo chmod 644 /Library/LaunchAgents/com.ncp-e.ncpmon.plist
