Saving a configuration or script file in LANconfig



Description:

This document describes how to use LANconfig to save the configuration file of a LANCOM router, access point or WLC in the file format *.lcf or as a script file in the file format *.lcs.


Requirements:


Procedure:

1) Saving the configuration in the file format *.lcf:

1.1) In LANconfig, right-click on the device for which the configuration is to be saved.

1.2) In the context menu Configuration management select the menu item Save as file.



1.3) If necessary, enter a different filename for the configuration file into the field.

1.4) As of LCMS version 9.1, you can encrypt the configuration file and password-protect it against unauthorized access. Enter the desired password in the fields Password and Repeat.

1.5) Then click on Save to store the configuration file in the format *.lcf.



2) Save the configuration as a script file in the format *.lcs:

1.1) In LANconfig, right-click on the device for which the configuration is to be saved.

1.2) In the context menu Configuration management select the menu item Save script as file.



2.3) If necessary, enter a different filename for the script file into the field.

2.4) As of LCMS version 9.1, you can encrypt the script file and password-protect it against unauthorized access. Enter the desired password in the fields Password and Repeat.

2.5) If you prefer to download selected sections only, please proceed as described in the following Knowledge Base document Database 'SP Knowledgebase', View '03. Edit Documents\by Responsible, Status', Document 'LANconfig: Teil(Konfiguration) per Scripting abspeichern und/oder einspielen'.

2.6) Then click on Save to store the script file in the format *.lcs.
